Pixel Wars: Nightmares of the Battlefield
A downloadable game for Windows
War. War never changes. In the year 2100, the world is a desolate wasteland torn apart by never-ending conflicts. Amidst the chaos, a pixelated rubber chicken that could bring an new era of peace was discovered. But war never changes. The news of its discovery spread, and soon, an enemy nation launches an attack on the city.
An Pixel Art game created for Libgdx Game Jam 24. It was supposed to be a horror pixel art game to show the horrors of war, but my art was lacking. So, i pivoted into a tower defense at the last minute.
Goal: survive the invasion
A - place a grunt, melee unit with short range, but high damage
S - place a sniper, range unit with long range, but low damage
D - place a iceman, short range, slows units, medium damage
To place the units, after summoning them you have to click with the mouse

Install instructions
Download the Jar. Must have Java installed. Go to commandline and enter commands:
java -jar PixelWars.jar
For Mac:
java -jar -XstartOnFirstThread PixelWars.jar

Bit rough gameplay. Interesting concept of a tower defence being on one line like that : ) might just have to steal that idea sometime.
Love the animations too, simple yet effective. Wish the upgrade stuff had button indicators.
Thanks. Yea, the gameplay was kinda rough. The simple art took me a bit to animate, even though it was basic, I learned that pixel art is hard.
Is this beatable? I went full grunts, mix, sniper + sniper + ice, and various others. Damn pixels are winning from me every time.
Sorry, I did not play test it enough, I think its only beatable if you place the grunts near the chicken so they kill everything, since the chicken stops them.
Nice Tower Defense! I didn't understand at first but after playing several more It's very easy and fun.
